About the role

We are seeking a Transportation Engineer-in-Training to join our team in the Cincinnati, Ohio office. This role will focus on supporting design projects related to transportation infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare construction plans, estimates, and other deliverables for transportation projects.
  • Support engineering tasks such as preparation of plans, designs, calculations, and cost estimates in accordance with established codes and standards.
  • Work within design team while cognizant of project scopes, schedules, budgets.
  • Follow all in-house procedures related to documentation of designs and process flow.
  • Attend and document project/client meetings with agenda and/or notes/minutes.
  • Assist team in preparing engineering designs, drawings, specifications, presentations and reports, and gather information to support design decisions.
  • Afford support services during construction that can include submittal reviews, responses to requests for information and contract document clarifications.
  • Perform field work related to construction activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.

Requirements

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including Word and Excel.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil3D or with Bentley MicroStation and Open Roads Designer.
  • Active listener, clear and concise writer, and cross functional collaborator, attentive to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks and pivot rapidly.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and interface with multiple project managers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering with emphasis in Civil, Transportation or Structural Engineering is required.
  • EIT certification in Ohio or ability to obtain within 6 months is required.
  • 0-2 years of related work experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
