Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects
- Perform civil engineering design and associated calculations and interpret plans from other engineering-related disciplines
- Apply technical expertise and be able to work with a project team on conventional and unconventional projects
- Perform independent research and delegate changing priorities
- Adhere to Horrocks safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment
- Work in a collaborative team environment and deliver accurate work product that is error-free
- Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT)
- 0-4+ years of experience in civil design
- Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities
Skills
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers
- Develop designs and documentation using MicroStation ORD or other design software
- Manage project data files from various sources
- Proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and virtually/remotely
- Ability to travel and perform fieldwork on occasion
