Engineering Technician / Electrical Assembly 1
The Product Integration Group of L3Harris in Rochester, New York, is seeking an Experienced Electrical Technician. This role involves assembling and integrating complex electromechanical space flight components, working closely with engineers on design and development.
About the Role
This position requires mechanical aptitude and proficiency in cable and harness builds, soldering, and understanding engineering drawings and schematics. The role demands strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Perform assembly and integration tasks
- Work with engineers on product design and development
- Optimize designs for manufacturability
- Handle fragile electronic assemblies under a microscope
- Work overtime, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed
- Obtain and maintain necessary certifications (IPC, JSTD, or comparable NASA)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience
- Associate's degree in electronics/electrical field with 0 to 2 years of related experience
- Must be able to obtain a US Government security clearance
Qualifications
- Proficient in soldering and cable/harness builds
- Ability to work with very fragile electronic assemblies
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and travel
- Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical discipline
- Certified to IPC, JSTD, or comparable NASA certifications
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices
- Aerospace or Defense industry experience preferred

Pay
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $45,000 - $84,000. Final offer amounts may vary based on factors including experience and geographic location.
Schedule
The schedule is 9/80 (every other Friday off).
