Core Responsibilities
- General engineering and maintenance support
- Assisting in the lab including set up, diagnostics, infrastructure, text fixtures, testing and tear down of projects
- Support prototyping and testing of other Pulsed Power and Directed Energy projects as needed
- Work closely with engineers and other teams to keep projects on schedule
- General electrical work for testbeds and off-site installations including:
- Wiring
- Wire pulling
- Terminations
- Ensuring connections are clean and secure
- Installation of rigid, EMT, and other types of conduits
- Electrical panels, switchgear, breakers, and distribution equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and one-line diagrams to complete work accurately
- Support installation of UPS systems, generators, transfer switches, and other power equipment
- Lockout/tagout and all jobsite safety requirements
- Perform testing, verification, and quality checks on completed work
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- 4 – 8 years of relevant technical experience (or higher education in lieu of experience)
- Must be able to commit to up to 4-6 weeks (per year, non-continuous) travel in support of testing or other customer requirements as needed
- Have an electrical background, electrical apprentice, or equivalent on job experience
- Willing to learn new specialty skillsets
- Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills and adaptability
- Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office and Email)
- Strong attention to detail and ownership of work
- Effective communication and collaboration across teams
- Adeptability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Clean driving record as defined by the state of Colorado with ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical certification
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- 8 – 12 years of relevant technical experience
- Experience in multiple trades; electrical/electrician (4th year Apprentice or higher), carpentry, construction, etc.
- Experience with forklifts, scissor lifts, material handling
- Experience with shop machines including table saws, mills, drill presses, lathes, etc.
- Experience constructing/maintaining/operating electrical equipment
- Experience with current Class A driver’s license (CDL)
- Current Active DoD TS or DoE Q security clearance
