About the role
This position provides IT engineering and technical support for research, design, development, installation, operation, and maintenance of physical and electronic security systems and their associated IT systems and network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform installation, upgrades, maintenance, and facilitate lifecycle replacement of IT systems
- Coordinate, integrate, and assist in the management of technical efforts to ensure identified needs are transformed into effective and life-cycle optimized systems
- Confirm that the system's definition and design reflect the requirements for all systems' elements (hardware, software, data, facilities, etc.)
- Work in a multifaceted team with many stakeholders (engineering, logistics, manufacturing, contractor, program leadership) in problem-solving efforts for designated aspects of complex problems with many competing objectives, variables, and constraints
- Document solutions in relation to technical, cost, and schedule constraints
- Develop and review various technical documentation, including change management documentation, presentation materials, and white papers
- Communicate with stakeholders across program offices, fleet, and industry stakeholders
- May develop and execute contingency plans for network-related hardware failures, including isolated and major outages
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline and a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be accepted
- Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance; SAIC will sponsor the clearance process
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Experience with one or more of the following system components: AMAG, Genetec, Motorola (Pelco), and Axis
- Experience supporting one or more of the following: Dell EMC servers, workstations, thin clients, and network attached storage, Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, group policy, client operating systems (Windows 10/11), and Microsoft Office suite, Cisco network infrastructure, and Vertiv (Avocent) IP KVM devices
- Ability to provide client consulting and training on the design and use of the network systems and architectures
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders of varying technical knowledge and viewpoints
Qualifications
- Desired Experience includes experience in software development, scripting and automation, database administration, patch management, configuration management, or cybersecurity
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition process is highly desired
- Certification in CompTIA Security+ is desired
