About the role
The Engineering Technician builds, analyzes, procures, troubleshoots, supports, and validates electronic and electromechanical equipment used in the AMI industry.
Essential functions
- Apply technical knowledge to solve complex engineering problems.
- Perform equipment validation testing based upon written procedures including full report documentation for all tests.
- Assist in the development of new test procedures and protocols as necessary to validate product and/or system performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair laboratory equipment and maintain laboratory facilities.
- Fabrication, wiring, and troubleshooting of test platforms, fixtures, interfaces, and cables.
- Maintain accurate and complete test records.
- Procure parts, components, and equipment.
- Support production line team with training, troubleshooting, and test or process help as needed.
- Maintain an ESD workstation in the laboratory area and adhere to ESD rules and procedures.
Additional responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software for programmable instruments and test setups where applicable.
- Ability to travel up to 25% by air or land.
- Other duties as required by the Sr Manager, Engineering Operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum Associate's technical degree.
- At least five (2) years working within the electronics industry performing technician tasks.
- Two (2) or more years' experience with C#.
- Use of lab equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators.
- Read and understand assembly drawing and schematics.
- Intermediate working knowledge with Microsoft Office and other related software utilizing a Windows platform.
- Soldering and desoldering training and skills.
- Proven self starter capable of working in a team environment to accomplish departmental objectives.
