Engineering Technician
About the role
The Engineering Technician will work as a R&D Technician building Aurora’s self-driving technology. This includes harness fabrication from scratch, often from lucid charts, Excel files, and engineering drawings. Candidates will work closely with Hardware Engineering and associated teams.

Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in harness fabrication using 1:1 form boards and various tooling in R&D and prototype spaces.
- Strong electrical skills, ability to read wiring schematics and layouts, redline drawings, and communicate with EDS design engineers.
- Strong background in electrical wiring & harness fabrication from scratch.
- Strong understanding of electrical tools and equipment; crimpers, dies, multimeter, presses, connectors, contacts, wire gauges/types, soldering, microscope, etc.
- Exceptional craftsmanship with the ability to pin out and quality test harnesses/circuit boards.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, PLM, CAD, and various other software tools.
- Excellent communication skills and self awareness.
- Ability to problem-solve, diagnose, analyze and isolate problems rationally.
- Proficiency with Windows and Google productivity Suite - specifically Sheets.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proactive, capable, and willing attitude to solve problems and support peers.
- Able to multitask under pressure in an unstructured environment.
Qualifications
- IPC training and certification in the following: IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721.
- Certification and training in GD&T.

Pay
The base hourly wage range for this position is $35.50-$46.25 per hour. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions.
