Engineering Technician

Job Overview

Perform field testing of construction materials including soil, concrete, and asphalt in accordance with industry standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect materials on-site and accurately document results through detailed daily reports
• Operate testing equipment and follow established procedures to ensure reliable data collection
• Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to support testing and inspection activities
• Work in a physically active environment, including lifting, climbing, bending, and navigating uneven terrain

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in construction materials testing or related construction field
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and site plans
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to job sites
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality

Preferred Qualifications

• NCDOT certifications
• ACI Field Technician Level INuclear Gauge User Certification
• NICET Level I (Soils, Concrete, or Asphalt)
• Previous field experience in construction or engineering

Job Type & Location

• This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay And Benefits

• The pay range for this position is $53,000.00 - $75,000.00/yr.
