Position Summary
Reports directly to Engineering Manager / Maintenance Manager or reports to Production Supervisor.
Performs routine set up, operation, minor and major routine maintenance, preventative maintenance (PM) and troubleshooting of highly complex/automated manufacturing equipment.
Responsible for production, quality, downtime, and waste levels of machine operation.
Essential Roles & Responsibilities
- Performs routine set up, operation, minor and major routine maintenance, preventative maintenance (PM) and troubleshooting of highly complex/automated manufacturing equipment.
- Controls and adjusts machine settings.
- Responsibilities include production, quality, downtime, and waste levels of machine operation.
- Performs mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance (including preventive) repairs, adjustments, inspection and monitoring of production and/or facilities related equipment and machinery.
- Uses judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, fix and problem solve in performance of all maintenance tasks.
- Prioritizes daily work assignments to meet production needs and department goals.
- Responsible for preventive maintenance scheduling, completion of work orders and tasks as assigned.
- Supports installation and removal of equipment, and performance of required corrective maintenance.
- Consistent presence in production departments. Monitors the production lines and proactively evaluates equipment performance for repairs and continuous improvement.
- Must demonstrate mechanical ability to complete changeover of equipment and some operator level preventive maintenance.
- Affords assistance with root-cause analysis activities for process or product exceptions.
- Checks work using prescribed gauges, jig and fixtures to measure close tolerances.
- Ensures accurate documentation of all relevant quality, safety, and maintenance documents.

- Must be able to work overtime as required to meet client business requirements
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED & Certificate and 2 years of experience in relevant field
- High School Diploma or GED with 4 years relevant experience required
- Relevant Fields: Electrical / Electronics Technician, Electromechanical Technician, Mechanical Engineering Technician, Industrial Programmer, Electrician, Machine Builder / Repairer, Machinist, Refrigeration Mechanic, Welding Repairer
- Knowledge/Basic Skills:
- Time management skills required to ensure all tasks are completed without delay
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required to work with various teams
- Mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical skills, must analyze, fix, and repair complex equipment and machinery.
- Ability to read electrical and pneumatic schematics
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Flexible and adaptable in working with/on a variety of equipment, processes, projects, or assignments.
- Understanding and use of trades mathematics, calibration techniques, and precision measuring instruments essential.
- Constant mental and visual attention performing moderately complex work requiring close limits of accuracy and tolerances.
- Must be knowledgeable in the following areas
- Use of a PC including MS Excel & MSWord.
- Demonstrate mechanical proficiency
- Demonstrate electrical proficiency
- Demonstrate hydraulics, pneumatics proficiency
- Ability to use multimeter
- Sensor technology
- Basic plumbing (fluid and pneumatic)
- Power transmission (gear box, motors, belt and chain drives)
- Basic machining
- Electrical troubleshooting of circuits from low level signals up to 480 VAC.
Additional Experience Preferred
- Troubleshooting of Industrial Control Systems (instrumentation, ladder logic, relay logic, VFD, servo etc.)
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of PLC operations, robotics, and vision systems.
- Mechanical design (AutoCAD, Solidworks, etc.)
- SAP maintenance module or equivalent computerized system
- Basic skills in use of mill, lathe, welding, & bearing press
