About the role
The Engineering Technician will work closely with Industrial Engineers to support industrialization projects, automation, prototyping, and equipment troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Work on project tasks signed by engineers for mechanical and electrical fabrication.
- Support machine testing, data collection, and analysis.
- Aid in the research, design, and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, methods, and equipment.
- Assist in machine and robot troubleshooting, creating troubleshooting guides.
- Work on prototype machining from blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications.
- Coordinate the analysis and tests, and source and justify various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
- Coordinate product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency enhancement.
- Assist with processing new parts and routines routed through the shop.
- Identify parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
- Aid engineers in drawing tool design using computer-assisted design applications and programs.
- Aid engineers in re-engineering existing parts as needed for improved manufacturability.
- Identify, perform, and troubleshoot tools in manufacturing to improve quality and tool life.
- Works under general supervision with a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
- Complies with federal, local, and state government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE procedures.
- Adheres to ISO 14001 standards, aspects, directives, and impacts related to HSE policy commitments.
- Attends all training provided and adheres to HSE procedures, policies, and plans, reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures.
- Identifies and alerts management to any known or suspected nonconformities for all company procedures or legal requirements.
- Continuously seeks opportunities to improve HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting results.
- Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department, such as EMS and recycling opportunities to eliminate production waste.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year certificate from college or technical school, preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of machinery and procedures.
- Working knowledge of relevant engineering applications.
- Proficiency in computer skills necessary for the job function.
