Engineering Tech Painter, Maintenance (30084)

Duties

• Remove and apply coatings and corrosion control
• Provide surface preparation prior to coatings application by grinding, sanding and/or blasting
• Use media blast cabinets and walk-in media blast rooms as well as steam pressure washers for cleaning and removal of debris
• Mix paint, primer and other coating materials and perform coating applications using a variety of products and application techniques including brushes, air guns and electroplating
• Use various coating application devices for spraying, dipping, brushing and wiping
• Work with various types of materials such as ferrous and non-ferrous metal alloys (i.e. aluminum, steels, brass) as well as synthetic materials such as composites and plastics
• Provide basic warehouse storage functions requiring forklift and overhead crane operations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• One (1) to two (2) years of painting experience
• SSPC C7 & C12 Certification - will be required at later date following employment if not already obtained

Preferred Experience

• Experience with a gravity-fed paint gun

Education

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Benefits

This position is covered by the Service Contract Labor Standard under a Wage Determination. As such, under the SCA selected candidates are entitled to both the hourly rate aforementioned and a health and welfare benefit. Qualifications

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
