Engineering Site Construction Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of projects from site preparation through commissioning for medium-scale data center projects; primarily for High Density Liquid Cooling Equipment and associated infrastructure.
  • Cook up vendor relationships, keeping tabs on general contractors, subcontractors, and third-party vendors to make sure they’re following the project specs, safety rules, and deadlines.
  • Make sure everything is built to the highest quality, meeting company standards, client requirements, and all the building codes.
  • Be ready to spot any problems early and fix them quickly, like safety hazards or design issues.
  • Keep in touch with the clients about the construction stuff, being a go-to person for questions and concerns.
  • Keep track of all the paperwork and records for the projects, like RFI’s, change orders, punch lists, daily reports, and project closeout materials.
  • Help the commissioning team make sure all the systems are working properly before handing them over.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of construction management experience, with at least 3 years focused on mission-critical or data center projects.
  • Strong understanding of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems and civil/structural construction.
  • Proven ability to manage medium-scale construction projects with values exceeding $5M.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations.
  • Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, CX Alloy, Primavera, MS Project).
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the U.S. and remain on-site for extended durations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, CCM, or equivalent construction/project management certifications.
  • Experience and/or knowledge with High Density Liquid Cooling in data center environments.
  • Experience with prefabrication, modular builds, or fast-track construction methodologies.
  • Previous experience working for or with Vertiv or similar data center infrastructure providers.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of five years equivalent practical management experience.
  • Computer literate with ability to utilize word processor and spreadsheet application software for written communications, reports, and financial analysis.
  • A working knowledge of basic accounting principles, with the ability to understand and apply business financial concepts.
  • Demonstrated administrative skills in decision making, organization and supervision.
