Engineering Project Coordinator

About the Role
Plan, coordinate, and manage engineering and construction projects for electric distribution, transmission, and fiber communication systems from project initiation through closeout. Lead project planning, scope development, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, documentation, contract administration, and stakeholder coordination while working closely with Engineering, Operations, Construction, contractors, customers, and permitting agencies to successfully deliver projects.
Support engineering design activities by reviewing project requirements, coordinating technical resources, evaluating field conditions, facilitating design decisions, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and KUB practices. Monitor project progress, costs, risks, quality, and documentation while coordinating field changes, construction support, inspections, and project closeout activities.
Apply technical knowledge together with strong project management, communication, organization, and leadership skills to deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective utility projects. Participate in storm response activities as required.
Responsibilities

- Administer contracts and coordinate with stakeholders including Engineering, Operations, Construction, contractors, customers, and permitting agencies
- Support engineering design by reviewing requirements, coordinating resources, evaluating field conditions, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards
- Monitor project progress, costs, risks, quality, and documentation
- Coordinate field changes, construction support, inspections, and project closeout activities
- Participate in storm response activities as required
Qualifications
Physical Requirements
- Primarily sedentary role performed in a typical office environment
- Duties involve sitting most of the time with occasional walking or standing
- May require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of items up to 10 pounds
- Bending, stooping, or reaching may occasionally be required
- Physical demands may vary by position and may occasionally exceed those described
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in construction and/or project management in a related field
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, standards, and specifications
- Ability to work as part of a team to achieve department and KUB goals
- Ability to document daily tasks using Microsoft Word, Excel, or other software as requested
- Valid driver's license

Preferred Requirements
- Minimum of seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in construction and/or project management or related field
- Construction management-related certification (CCM, CPC, or PMP)
- Experience with cost estimates, budgeting, and other project expense management
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience may be considered
- Ability to utilize AutoCad, Microstation, or other computer-aided drafting software

40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday
