About the role

We're looking for an Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to join our team. You'll own the domain "system of delivery" and ensure its work supports our strategy. You'll prioritize tasks, manage dependencies, and keep stakeholders informed. This role requires strong communication, strategic thinking, and experience in software delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Own the domain backlog structure, PI planning, and delivery plan
  • Challenge and de-prioritize non-strategic work
  • Establish structures and mechanisms for predictable delivery
  • Communicate progress, risks, and changes clearly
  • Prioritize work to focus on highest-value tasks
  • Drive cross-team sequencing and integration planning
  • Maintain risk and dependency registers and drive resolution
  • Keep Atlassian artifacts and dashboards up-to-date
  • Provide clear, timely communications to stakeholders
  • Ensure work has clear acceptance criteria and defined value
  • Participate in cross-functional work intake and provide key inputs
  • Apply and help evolve common VC&M standards
  • Ensure the domain integrates into the broader VC&M operating model
  • Build strong partnerships across engineering, program, product, design, systems, testing, operations, safety/regulatory, release, and quality
  • Drive alignment through clear tradeoffs and transparent plans
  • Use data and delivery signals to inform priorities and leadership actions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in software/services delivery environments
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functional work across multiple disciplines
  • Proficiency with delivery tooling (e.g., Atlassian Suite, Miro)
  • Experience operating in scaled delivery models (PI planning, multi-team roadmapping, portfolio governance)

Qualifications

  • Even better, demonstrated ability to define and implement standards/templates that improve consistency across teams
  • Ability to synthesize complex information for diverse audiences

Skills

  • Strong communication and strategic thinking skills

  • Proficiency with delivery tooling

Pay

This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $115,000-$192,900. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.

Schedule

This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
