Engineering Professional, Site/Civil Engineering
Technical Responsibilities
- Utilization of Autodesk Civil 3D for design and documentation.
- Perform civil and site engineering analysis for site plans, site layout, utilities, stormwater management, green infrastructure, earthwork, grading, erosion control under the direct supervision of a senior engineer.
- Absorb due diligence/site analysis reports, engineer opinion of probable costs, utility computations, detention/retention computations, storm water reports, earthwork analysis.
- Absorb preparation of permit applications for applicable jurisdictional agencies.
- Attend various meetings, days or evenings.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of design documentation including Civil 3D models and drawings under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Conduct research on materials, products, municipal/zoning codes, systems, and sustainable design practices to inform project decisions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including architecture, sustainability, construction, and other consultants, to support the integrated delivery of projects.
- Perform onsite surveys of existing site conditions and document field measurements and observations.
- Assist in production of final permit, bid and construction drawings.
- Participate in construction phase activities including submittal review and construction site observations.
- Engage in cross-discipline career development. Participate in continuous learning opportunities, attend industry events, and participate in internal training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Adapt to various roles within a project and perform at a high level. Proactively accepts tasks beyond the primary scope and adjusts to changing priorities to ensure project success, team collaboration, and firm excellence.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from ABET accredited civil engineering program. Master of Science (MS) degree from ABET accredited civil engineering program a plus.
- Experience: 2-7 years of full-time civil engineering experience in an engineering firm, with exposure to analysis, design, and documentation for site civil / land development projects. Internship in an engineering firm a plus.
- Licensing and Certification: Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) exam and EIT Certification a plus. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license a plus.
- Skills: Critical thinking, analytical problem-solving skills, technical expertise, attention to detail, adaptability, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Passion: A genuine interest in integrated design and delivery, with a commitment to professional growth and development.
Pay
Salary Range: $75,000 - $115,000. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
