About the role
The role supports prototype manufacturing planning and processes by scheduling and planning work for internal assembly and manufacturing processes, as well as external contractors. The individual will work closely with engineering customers and prototype engineering and technical staff to plan and schedule work that meets the requirements of our Combat Mission Systems customers.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and monitor daily Prototype Network and engineering support from internal and external Prototype Network technicians and contractors.
- Manage external Prototype Network contractor direct billable hours on purchase orders (POs).
- Maintain the stock of soft-pegged consumable supplies and materials for the SIF.
- Collaborate with Prototype Network staff to develop workflows and processes for efficient project execution.
- Document workflows within the Prototype Network and manufacturing areas.
- Perform cost accounting for SIF soft-pegged consumables and materials.
- Manage small assembly projects within the SIF.
- Track and maintain warehouse storage of legacy engineering assets.
- Plan, track, and allocate space for program support, including occupancy billing to the appropriate cost centers.
- Serve as the safety representative.
- Affiliate with Prototype Network staff with department process improvements.
Requirements
- Proven teamwork and leadership skills, with the ability to work across multiple functions and program teams.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey information, propose ideas, and provide direction.
- Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and program teams.
- Proficiency in the Windows OS, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Visio.
- Demonstrated experience in workspace planning for efficiency.
Skills
- Experience with Oracle ERP, specifically in Bill of Materials (BOM) creation and the establishment of standard routings and operations.
- Experience in inventory and material planning and management.
- Experience in workflow and process development.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree preferred.
- Experience in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment preferred.
