Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the engineering design of large electrical transmission and distribution capital projects.
- Assemble project team, assign individual responsibilities, identify resources needed, and develop schedules for timely project completion.
- Interface with end users, distributors, and vendors to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Review project deliverables and communicate project status and key updates to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years related professional experience.
- Proficient in project scheduling, tracking, and reporting methodologies.
- Knowledge of financial principles to quantify costs and benefits of projects and track budgets.
- Experience in managing vendors and contractors regarding work scope changes.
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated business management skills including consulting, customer service, and business acumen.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to facilitate team efforts, provide guidance, and communicate project objectives, parameters, status, and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Demonstrated skill in analyzing information, forming conclusions, and providing meaningful and creative solutions to non-typical business issues.
- Ability to motivate and influence others as well as skills and experience in team building and conflict management.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
Preferences
- Seven years related professional experience.
- Master's in Business Administration or advanced technical degree.
- Current Professional Engineer License.
- Project Management Professional certification by the Project Management Institute, or Advanced Project Management, or Program Management Certification.
- Understanding of environmental regulations, National Environmental Protection Act, environmental impact statement, environmental assessment, State Historical Preservation Office, Army Corps of Engineers, etc.
- Experience in the electric utility industry and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- Working knowledge of Power BI and Power Automate software.
- Experience in electric utility design and/or construction.
