About the Role
The Engineering Operations Manager oversees projects spanning five product lines within the Diversified Business Unit (DBU). This role involves balancing business and engineering implications while maintaining product quality and consistency. The position requires leading without authority, driving progress to deadlines, and diving deep into cross-functional details. Additionally, the role supports the management and reporting of the DBU, including preparing quarterly business presentations, yearly business strategy, and projects aimed at improving DBU operations.
Responsibilities
- Work independently and collaboratively with DBU product line managers, product management, and associated departments to run the business unit.
- Assign resources to projects by collaborating with department managers to achieve project objectives.
- Drive project execution to successful completion.
- Define project purpose, scope, objectives, deliverables, key milestones, and resource requirements.
- Document project status relative to the plan using project tracking tools; partner with stakeholders to document progress, gaps, and actions.
- Ensure attainment of project objectives, including reviewing deliverables for coverage and quality.
- Assign characterization test and qualification resources in collaboration with the Engineering Test Department manager.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for compliance audits.
- Close projects in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 7-10 years of experience in a related field, or Master’s degree in electrical engineering with 5-7 years of experience.
- Understanding of basic project and product line financial metrics: ROI, GM, R&D spend, and contribution margin.
- Proficiency in Project Management, ERP, and PLM tools (JIRA, SmartSheet, and/or Arena desirable).
- Strong research, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Ability to tailor communication to the appropriate level of detail for diverse audiences, from project teams to executive leadership (VPs, SVPs, C-suite).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver on-time results and be accountable.
