Engineering Manager (Provider)

About the role

Headway is a high-growth company dedicated to making mental healthcare more accessible. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and grow the engineering pods supporting our provider experiences.

Responsibilities

• Ensure providers have the tools they need to efficiently document their clinical care.
• Build systems that enable rapid experimentation and long-term scale.
• Drive alignment across your team on process, prioritization, and product outcomes.
• Develop and grow your team through regular 1-1s, mentorship, and feedback.
• Contribute to the broader company strategy and product roadmap.
• Lead your team into the AI era, shaping how your team uses AI tools responsibly in a healthcare context.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as an experienced Engineering Manager.
• 3-5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• A strong product mindset and experience building strong cross-functional relationships.
• A track record of building and leading high-performing teams that deliver business outcomes through technical investments.
• A strong technical foundation allowing you to ensure your team makes appropriate technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Energetic by experimentation and growth, balancing short-term learning with long-term scale.
• Experience with Python and React.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure.

Skills

• Strong leadership skills.
• Experience with AI tools and responsible AI implementation in healthcare contexts.
• Ability to work across teams and functions.
