Engineering Manager Overview
Brex is an intelligent finance platform that helps companies manage their spending and operations efficiently. This role is based in San Francisco and involves leading onboarding systems and product experiences.
Responsibilities
- Drive business and product strategies to ensure a seamless, intuitive, and efficient onboarding experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define priorities and deliver delightful customer activation experiences.
- Leverage AI to reimagine and automate onboarding and implementation workflows, improving speed, personalization, and operational leverage.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, including hiring, mentoring, performance management, and establishing strong technical direction.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, technical architecture, and product quality.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and customer obsession across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong technical depth.
- 3+ years of experience managing or leading engineers in a high-growth environment.
- Strong technical background and understanding of software development principles.
- Expertise leading full-stack engineering teams delivering end-to-end product experiences.
- Regularly works with cross-functional partners and excels in driving alignment across stakeholders.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to evaluate impact, measure funnel performance, and optimize activation metrics.
- Track record building AI-powered product experiences, including LLM-driven automation and personalization.
Bonus Points
- Experience with data platforms such as Snowflake, Hex, or similar.
- Experience building systems related to onboarding, implementation, identity, workflow automation, customer lifecycle products, or other customer facing experiences.
- You have started your own technology venture or were an early technical founder/employee.
Compensation
The expected salary range for this role is $240,000 - $300,000. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
