About the Role
As an Engineering Manager I, you will coordinate and drive team efforts to deliver software solutions for the Offers team. This team builds and maintains real-time, event-based systems that enable the company to quickly and easily create new bonus mechanics without technical team input. You will lead a team of software developers with varying experience and skillsets, focusing on people, processes, delivery, and governance. The role involves measuring quality and delivery, contributing to improvements, and maintaining a solid technical understanding of systems. You will also lead SDLC transformation in the modern AI era, implementing agentic workflows.

Responsibilities
- Build and lead a team of software developers with varying experience and skillsets.
- Drive the delivery of high-quality software solutions for real-time event-based systems.
- Measure quality and delivery, contributing to and driving improvements.
- Maintain a solid technical understanding of systems and stay close to the solutions being developed.
- Lead SDLC transformation in the modern AI era, implementing agentic workflows.
- Assist in driving the provision of a capable, reactive, motivated, and delivery-focused team.
- Enforce governance around quality, rules, standards, and processes within the team.
- Be hands-on with architecture and technical solutions.
- Ensure solutions meet business needs and the development process is conducted efficiently.
- Aim to limit repeated steps in the development process.
- Identify and mitigate risks, and remove blockers to delivery.
- Analyze the impact of change.
- Mentor team members and ensure the distribution of knowledge.
- Provide input into developers' appraisals and other performance feedback.
Requirements
- Extensive commercial development experience.
- Proven track record in leading teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Experience developing low-latency, highly available, and scalable solutions.
- Experience with agentic transformation to the SDLC and driving AI efficiency initiatives.
- Experience with event-based systems.
- Server-side development experience (e.g., services, systems, messaging, middleware).
- Frontend development experience (e.g., React and TypeScript).
- Good database application programming ability.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple streams of activity, shifting focus regularly.
Pay
The annual salary for this role is between $130,000 and $160,000.
