RemoteRemoteEngineering$173k–$217k/yrFull-time

This position is based in the United States and is a fully remote role with a high-impact engineering leadership focus on modernizing and scaling a complex frontend platform.

About the role

You will lead a team of 3–5 engineers while remaining deeply engaged in technical strategy and execution. The role centers on building a modular, mobile-optimized architecture using React, TypeScript, and modern frontend patterns. You will guide a major transition from Angular to React while advancing Micro Frontends, Module Federation, and cross-platform experiences. Working closely with Product, Design, Architecture, Mobile, and Backend teams, you will shape platform-level priorities and engineering standards. You will also mentor engineers, strengthen development practices, and drive reliable solutions across multiple applications and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of 3–5 frontend engineers through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, career planning, hiring, onboarding, and mentorship.
  • Balance technical leadership with delivery management, creating an environment where engineers can work with autonomy while maintaining strong execution and accountability.
  • Lead the design and implementation of modular frontend architecture using Module Federation, Micro Frontends, and related architectural patterns.
  • Drive the migration of the primary dashboard from Angular to React and advance a web-based hybrid mobile strategy using technologies such as CapacitorJS and shared WebViews.
  • Define and maintain engineering standards for code quality, performance, security, scalability, and developer experience across the frontend platform.
  • Guide modernization of the frontend toolchain, including React, TypeScript, Webpack, MUI, and related technologies, while preparing codebases for AI-assisted development.
  • Partner with Architecture and Design System teams to evolve component libraries and establish consistent, mobile-optimized experiences across platforms.
  • Lead complex debugging, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis across multi-frontend environments, implementing improvements that reduce recurring issues.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, Mobile, and platform engineering leaders to establish roadmaps and priorities for modular, mobile-first experiences.
  • Represent frontend platform strategy to senior and executive stakeholders, translating technical decisions and tradeoffs into clear business outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of engineering excellence, collaboration, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in engineering management or a technical leadership/management hybrid role.
  • Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, modern frontend build systems such as Webpack or Vite, and architectural patterns including Module Federation, Micro Frontends, and Monorepos.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams through significant modernization initiatives, including framework migrations, legacy-system isolation, and improvements to developer productivity.
  • Strong understanding of responsive web development and web-based hybrid mobile technologies such as CapacitorJS, Ionic, or WebViews.
  • Proven ability to solve complex system-design challenges spanning multiple applications, teams, and technical domains.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong people leadership skills, with a genuine interest in mentoring engineers, developing talent, and building inclusive, high-performing teams.
  • Experience with Elixir/Phoenix, GraphQL, EventBridge-based architectures, mobile web optimization, B2B SaaS, commerce, or scheduling platforms is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted developer tools and structured code-quality initiatives is advantageous.
  • Experience modernizing large monolithic systems or connecting web and mobile ecosystems is beneficial.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary of $173,000–$216,500 per year for candidates in NYC, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Seattle.
  • Base salary range of $153,500–$211,200 per year for other U.S. locations.
  • Eligibility for a variable compensation program, with final compensation determined by experience, location, and leveling.
  • Equity opportunity designed to provide long-term participation in the organization's growth.
  • 401(k) matching program.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
  • Flexible vacation policy to support time away from work when needed.
  • Fully remote work model with a monthly work-from-home stipend.
  • Family planning resources and specialized support programs.
  • Learning and development support through a dedicated professional development program.
  • Collaborative environment with opportunities to work on challenging, high-impact frontend and platform initiatives.
