Responsibilities
- Plan, assign, and prioritize engineering work to support project schedules and customer commitments; lead regular team check-ins and provide clear status updates, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership and project stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and documentation practices for engineered solutions; ensure drawings, bills of material, and supporting calculations are accurate, controlled, and released on time.
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to resolve design challenges, manufacturing feasibility issues, and field/customer technical questions; coordinate root-cause analysis and corrective actions as needed.
- Partner with Production, Quality, Project Management, and Sales to ensure designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and compliant with applicable standards; support estimating and proposal efforts with technical input when required.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen engineering processes, tools, and training (e.g., CAD standards, templates, revision control, design reviews, lessons learned).
- Hire, coach, and develop engineering staff; conduct performance conversations, goal setting, and training plans in accordance with company policy; foster a collaborative, accountable, safety-minded team culture aligned with company Core Values.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of engineering/design experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex technical challenges
- Experience managing projects, engineering changes, and documentation in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Autodesk (AutoCAD) and/or other design tools (e.g., SolidWorks)
- Strong communication skills, able to work across customers, production, and non-technical teams
- Ability to travel up to 40%
