Engineering Manager

We make the gig economy accessible to manufacturing and distribution through a mobile app for workers and a suite of business tools for companies to assess labor needs and access labor on demand.

About the role

Contribute to the vision and evolution of an industry-changing tech platform. Apply expertise in the Android ecosystem, DevOps, version control, third-party libraries, REST APIs, and UI/UX design. Shape and define the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure agile delivery of high-quality solutions. Mentor team members by aligning their career goals with business objectives. Own the hiring process for new mobile developers. Build, lead, and work alongside a team of Android engineers to create high-impact products. Oversee technical execution for the company’s flagship Android applications. Occasionally contribute hands-on to design, development, and maintenance. Stay current with mobile development technologies, Google/Android policy changes, and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Android mobile engineers.
• Define and drive the execution of the mobile app roadmap and architecture.
• Build and maintain CI/CD DevOps pipelines for Android apps and manage releases on the Google Play store.
• Shape the SDLC to ensure agile delivery of high-quality solutions.
• Oversee technical execution for flagship mobile applications, especially Android.
• Occasionally contribute hands-on to design, development, and maintenance of projects.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile development technologies and best practices.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience leading mobile engineering teams.

Skills

• Building Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Building Backend APIs using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Leading teams of Android mobile engineers to execute roadmap projects and mobile app architecture.
• Building CI/CD DevOps pipelines for Android apps and releasing apps on the Google Play store.
