Engineering Manager
At Tradeify, we're building a high-performance trading ecosystem that empowers traders around the world with capital, technology, education, and community. We operate across futures and crypto markets and partner with platforms like NinjaTrader and Tradovate to deliver a best-in-class trading experience. We're a rapidly scaling fintech serving a global trader community, and technology is at the center of everything we do. If you want to build systems where performance actually matters, where a slow order execution is a real problem for real traders, this is a good place to do it.
About the role
The Tradeify Platform team owns the backend and infrastructure that the entire business runs on today: trading accounts, evaluations, integrations with third-party trading platforms, and the APIs and services other teams (including product surfaces like Arcnine) build on top of. This is a live, revenue-generating system, not a greenfield build.
Responsibilities
- Hire, onboard, and grow a team of backend and full-stack engineers.
- Run regular 1:1s, set clear goals, and give direct, useful feedback.
- Own performance management for your team, including calibration and hard conversations when needed.
- Partner with Product to scope and prioritize platform and integration work.
- Guide architecture decisions for scalable APIs, backend services, and microservices supporting third-party trading platform integrations (NinjaTrader, Tradovate, and others).
- Stay hands-on with the code: review pull requests, weigh in on design docs, and unblock engineers on hard problems.
- Own delivery, including sprint planning, tracking progress, and keeping commitments realistic against a live production system.
- Drive up code quality, testing standards, and CI/CD practices across the team.
- Own production reliability and observability, and lead incident response for systems the whole business depends on.
- Contribute to engineering standards and hiring practices at the broader Tradeify org level.
- Help shape how the broader engineering team hires, onboards, and operates.
- Represent the platform team's work, constraints, and technical debt tradeoffs in cross-functional planning.
Requirements
- Prior experience managing or leading engineers, in addition to hands-on engineering experience.
- Full-stack or backend engineering background (React, Next.js, or Vue on the frontend; Python, Node.js, C#, or Go on the backend).
