Engineering Manager

About the role
As the Operations Engineering Manager, you will lead the development and execution of our manufacturing processes, along with the facility's capital investments. You will lead a team of process engineers and collaborate with our product design team as we bring our new vehicle to market.
Responsibilities
- Research and formulate plans to accomplish major projects, including manpower estimates, cost estimates, and work measuring devices such as milestones or critical path charts.
- Monitor progress of major projects and make recommendations when needed, including acquisition of capital equipment.
- Develop proposals for production processes.
- Support cost estimate activities for both new and existing products using actuals, MOST, and simulation tools.
- Research and make recommendations on make or buy products.
- Research and make recommendations for the acquisition of tooling, equipment, and fixtures.
- Understand current safety and OSHA requirements pertaining to assembly operations and incorporate ergonomics into safety, productivity, and performance.
- Establish manpower requirements, line and sub-assembly balancing data, and expectancy time performances.
- Lead plant layout and workstation design.
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize work to meet established deadlines.
- Manage and direct a team, including but not limited to manufacturing, process, and/or industrial engineers, focused on facility and process design.
- Develop, implement, and achieve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency standards ensuring continuously improving operations.
- Provide status reporting on safety, budget, staffing, volume, and performance measurements to ensure effective communication and analysis.
- Play an active role in long-range financial forecasting, specifically around planning the resource needs of the platform team.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in operations engineering or related field.
- Three (3) or more years of experience in leading a team of direct reports.
Qualifications
- Heavy industrial or automotive industry experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in line balancing and capacity/resource planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in value-stream mapping, problem solving, and process improvement.
- Demonstrated experience leading medium and large-scale operations based on lean principles.
- Demonstrated proficiency in lean-based process design and standard visual work instruction development.
- Green Belt and/or Black Belt certification from accredited establishment.
- Knowledge deploying and using 3D simulation software such as FlexSim, Simul8, etc.
- Skilled in use of a Shop Floor Management System or MES, such as ProPlanner, Siemens, etc.
Pay
Pay Range: $92,600.00 - $154,400.00. The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
