Key Responsibilities
- Support and oversee daily operations of the Engineering and Maintenance team.
- Lead preventive and corrective maintenance efforts across resort systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pools, life safety systems, and general building maintenance.
- Ensure resort facilities are maintained to luxury hospitality standards and support an exceptional guest experience.
- Partner closely with Rooms, F&B, Housekeeping, Security, and other departments to proactively address operational and facility needs.
- Respond promptly and effectively to operational, guest, and emergency maintenance situations.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party contractors and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, safety, environmental, and building regulations.
- Assist with budgeting, inventory control, capital projects, and cost management initiatives.
- Support sustainability and energy-saving efforts to improve operational efficiencies.
- Help develop, coach, and motivate engineering team members while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
- Participate in Manager on Duty responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of Engineering or Facilities leadership experience, preferably in a resort, hotel, or luxury hospitality environment.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, mechanical systems, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience managing maintenance teams.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Able to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with hotel work order and preventive maintenance systems preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations as business needs require.
- Technical certifications and/or degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
