About the role
NxEdge provides vertically integrated solutions to the Semiconductor market, specializing in Precision Manufacturing and Engineering Material Coatings (EMC). We are seeking a driven, hands-on Engineering Manager to manage site-level engineering resources, ensuring the completion of engineering projects while championing process-improvement initiatives to meet regulatory and customer requirements. This position reports to the Site Manager and oversees Manufacturing Engineers, R&D Engineers, and Technicians.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new customer product designs for manufacturability and resolve any manufacturability issues through customer communication.
- Ensure timely and concise execution of deliverables for new process development.
- Oversee and build a knowledge base through DOE and application testing aligned with organizational strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain a knowledge base platform for data and process sharing internally and across other company sites.
- Review and approve manufacturing process work instructions, procedures, and internal documentation.
- Identify areas of opportunity and develop plans for long-term improvements.
- Act as key contact with customers, ensuring execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customer specifications.
- Prepare performance reports for stakeholders, including management and customers.
- Review and approve all Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and subsequent Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), documentation, and drawings prior to production release; initiate corrective actions for errors or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the Quality team to develop and improve procedures and work instructions for internal and external processing of manufactured goods.
- Work with external vendors and suppliers to ensure they meet required industry and customer standards.
- Assist the Quality team in maintaining accurate and current site quality records based on internal processes.
- Maintain and improve the site-level ECR system for part/process implementation or adjustments, ensuring communication to all relevant stakeholders.
- Define equipment specifications based on in-depth analysis of product requirements.
- Oversee training, skill development, performance evaluation, salary adjustments, and disciplinary actions for Engineering staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
- Three years of Manufacturing Engineering and/or Quality Management experience, preferably in the Semiconductor industry.
- In-depth knowledge of CNC Machining, Robotics, and other manufacturing methods (hands-on experience preferred).
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering practices, quality control, and customer satisfaction.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage and supervise staff.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar ISO requirements.
- Experience with 6-sigma/DMAIC initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Sound organizational skills.
Physical Demands
