Engineering Manager

About the role

Lead our entire California engineering team as the engineering leader for our Sunnyvale office. Your team owns critical parts of our edge AI platform, cloud infrastructure, and customer-facing engineering. This is a hands-on technical leadership role: you'll set direction and grow the team, but stay close to the code through architecture, review, and debugging. You'll start managing the existing engineers, with significant growth within a year as we scale 2–3x, and work directly with the CTO, CEO, and Product.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and grow the Sunnyvale engineering team.
• Remain hands-on with architecture, code review, and debugging.
• Collaborate directly with the CTO, CEO, and Product leadership.
• Scale the team 2–3x within a year while maintaining high engineering standards.

Requirements

• Reached Staff or very senior IC level and spent a couple of years there before moving into management (typically after ~4–5 years in engineering).
• Current or prior experience managing engineers (Tech Lead Manager or Engineering Manager).
• Deep strength in at least one of: distributed/real-time systems (e.g., C++), robotics/AI, or HPC.
• Experience inside an established top-tier engineering culture with exposure to how a 50–100+ person org operates.
• A strong hiring track record and a high bar for what "great" looks like.
• Still genuinely hands-on and motivated by ownership, impact, and shaping the product.
