Job Summary
The Engineering Manager at Codal is responsible for designing scalable systems, championing backend excellence, and ensuring robust API standards. They oversee complex data strategies across relational and NoSQL databases, collaborating with DevOps to optimize cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. This role also involves mentoring the engineering team to elevate their performance through performance tuning and maintaining high standards of code quality, performance, and security.
What You Bring
- Deep expertise in technologies including Node.js, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, and modern frontend & CMS frameworks
- Technical design architecture for implementing complex web applications and scalable backend systems
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure/GCP, and CI/CD pipelines
- Expertise in software architecture, database systems (BigQuery/SQL/NoSQL), and cloud-native applications
- Demonstrated ability in delivery, scalability, and solving complex technical challenges
- High standards of code quality, performance, and security across all project deliverables
- Code reviews to find slow code and vulnerabilities
- Mentorship: technical guidance to team members to ensure best practices
- Strong communication, leadership, and Agile methodology skills
What is Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 6+ years of relevant experience in hands-on full-stack development and technical leadership, delivering enterprise level projects
- 3+ years of engineering lead experience, managing a team of 3-5

Pay Range
$130,000 USD - $190,000 USD
