Engineering Manager
The Opportunity
Clarium is scaling Astra OS across more of the country's leading health systems, and the features our users touch every day are at the center of that growth. We're looking for a highly technical Engineering Manager to lead a team building the end-user-facing functionality that powers our core product experience; the surfaces where hospital supply chain teams actually do their work.
In this role, you'll own technical direction, system design, and delivery for your team's products while managing and developing the engineers on it. You'll stay close to the code and the product, partnering with Engineering, Data, and Product to shape how users interact with the platform while keeping a strong technical foundation behind the scenes. This role is ideal for someone who doesn't want to choose between leading people and staying hands-on. You'll set strategy and grow a team, but you'll also be writing code, in code reviews, and making architecture decisions, with real ownership over both the "what" and the "how" at a stage where your work genuinely shapes the product.
What You'll Bring
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years leading engineers as an engineering manager
- Experience leading teams building end-user-facing features, with a deep care for product quality, usability, and performance
- Ability to translate product requirements into technical plans and drive projects from concept to production
- Hands-on experience with our core stack: Python, React, and TypeScript, including shipping production code and a desire to stay hands-on writing code in this role
- A strong collaborator who builds alignment across Engineering, Data, and Product teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences and keep leadership informed through clear, actionable updates
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare, supply chain, or another complex regulated domain
- Experience scaling teams or processes in an early-stage startup environment
