Engineering Manager

About the role

Camgian is looking for an Engineering Manager who can lead, mentor, and support our growing team of engineers. In this role, you will oversee engineers, ensuring their work aligns with product roadmaps and development plans, while fostering a culture of excellence. We value candidates with a strong passion for people management and a solid understanding of the technical landscape in software engineering, AI/ML, or data science fields.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers in software, AI, or data science fields, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development.
• Oversee software projects, ensuring engineers adhere to program management timelines, quality processes, and performance standards for project deliverables.
• Offer technical expertise in design and development, troubleshoot complex issues, and maintain best practices.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Program, and QA to coordinate product goals and timelines.
• Participate in recruitment efforts to attract and retain top engineering talent while fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
• Continuously evaluate and improve development processes, tools, and practices to enhance team efficiency and quality.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement action plans to help team members reach their full potential.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in software engineering, AI, or data science, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
• Background in one or more technologies or programming languages, such as C++, Python, GoLang, Java, JavaScript, Machine Learning, Signal Processing, Data Science, or SQL, with hands-on development experience.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.
• Proven experience in mentoring and managing engineering teams, with a focus on team development, growth, and retention.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• US citizenship is desired.

Desired Skills

• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong background in Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Data Engineering.
• Proven experience managing a team through development, testing, and deployment of products to customers.
• Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
