Engineering Manager

Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical, software) in delivering high-impact design projects that meet safety, cost, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals. Report to the General Manager with functional guidance from the VP of Engineering Programs and close collaboration with Product Management.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the engineering roadmap, translating business goals into clear priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
• Oversee end-to-end engineering execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality and customer requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with customers, operations, and leadership to define requirements and deliver manufacturable solutions.
• Recruit, lead, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team, setting clear expectations and building technical and leadership capabilities.
• Allocate resources across projects, balance workloads, and keep the team focused on the highest-impact priorities.
• Manage engineering budgets and track key performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
• Champion engineering best practices, lead root-cause problem-solving, and improve processes for efficiency and product reliability.
• Proactively identify risks, drive mitigation plans, and communicate effectively with senior leadership to keep projects on track.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering, or a closely related field (required).
• Master of Science in Engineering or MBA highly preferred.
• Minimum 7+ years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a people-leadership role managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
• Minimum 2+ years experience in a technical customer-contact role.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial-product environment strongly preferred.

Skills

• Proficiency in 3D CAD systems including CATIA and Autodesk Inventor.
• Familiarity with engineering change-management processes (ECR, TCF, HAZOP, FMEA, Design Control).
• Working knowledge of Stage-Gate product-development processes and Agile or Lean engineering methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; experience with project-management and ERP tools preferred.
• Proven ability to build, coach, and develop high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong conflict-resolution, influencing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, drive decisions under uncertainty, and handle multiple concurrent projects.

Pay

$102,000–$130,000/year
