Engineering Manager - Americas

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned engineer with a proven track record of building impactful products and leading teams. As an Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our unique engineering culture and contributing to the growth of Ashby.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 3-5 engineers and hire 3-5 more.
• Coach and mentor engineers to help them grow and reach their full potential.
• Work closely with the Engineering team to refine and maintain our exceptional engineering practices.
• Propose and lead department and company-wide initiatives to improve our engineering processes and tools.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or equivalent leadership role.
• Experience leading a team of engineers in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
• Strong technical background and ability to lead by example.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to balance strategic direction with hands-on execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering or a related field.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of modern software development tools and technologies.

Skills

• Strong leadership and coaching skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with pull request reviews and code reviews.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
