Engineering Manager (AI-Native Platform) - Remote
for section headings. Use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and
for prose.
We need to preserve all substantive information, remove boilerplate (cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning, duplicated lines, application instructions). Also remove the "#ST2 Note that the following statements only apply to candidates who will be working from an unincorporated area within Los Angeles County." and the Fair Chance statements? Those are legal/EEO boilerplate; we should remove them. Also remove "First American is an equal opportunity employer..." etc. Also remove "Based on eligibility, First American offers a comprehensive benefits package..."? That's part of benefits, but we need to keep benefits info. However the sentence includes "Based on eligibility, First American offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO/paid sick leave and other great benefits like an employee stock purchase plan." That's substantive benefits; we keep it. But we need to remove the EEO statement.
Also remove "Pay Range: $148,600.00 - $198,200.00 Annually This hiring range is a reasonable estimate..." we keep pay range.
We need sections only when there is real specific content. So we can have sections: About the Company (Who We Are), What We Do (maybe includes Remote Work Welcome), Responsibilities (What You'll Do), Requirements (What You'll Bring), Preferred Qualifications (Ideally, You'll Also Have Experience With...), Benefits (What We Offer), Pay (Pay Range). Possibly Schedule? Not present, so omit.
We need to use
for each section heading.
We need to convert lists to - . Identify list items: In Who We Are paragraph, not a list. In What We Do paragraph, not list. In What You'll Do: there are bullet-like sentences separated by periods but not explicit list. However we can treat each sentence as a list item? The instruction: Use
- for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. The posting uses bullet-like sentences but not explicit bullet markers. We could still treat them as list items if they are delineated by line breaks? In the text, each duty is a sentence starting with a capital letter and ends with period, but they are separated by spaces? Actually they are in paragraph with line breaks? The text shows:
"Build High-Performing Engineering Teams Create an inclusive, psychologically safe environment where engineers are empowered to grow, collaborate, and deliver exceptional results.Coach engineers through regular feedback, career development, performance management, and mentoring while raising the overall technical and leadership capability of the team.Build strong hiring pipelines, make thoughtful hiring decisions, and continuously raise the engineering talent bar. Drive Delivery Excellence Own predictable delivery for one or more engineering teams by establishing clear priorities, effective planning mechanisms, and strong execution discipline.Remove obstacles, manage competing priorities, and ensure teams consistently deliver high-quality software aligned with business objectives.Measure team health using engineering and operational metrics, continuously improving velocity, quality, and customer outcomes. Partner Across Functions Collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, Architecture, Security, and Business stakeholders to align roadmaps, clarify priorities, and ensure engineering investments deliver measurable customer and business value.Help translate ambiguous business problems into executable engineering plans while balancing technical health with product delivery. Build AI-Native Engineering Teams Champion the responsible adoption of AI across the software development lifecycle.Ensure engineers effectively leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies to accelerate software development while maintaining high standards for quality, security, and engineering judgment.Partner with technical leaders to evaluate opportunities for AI-powered products and agentic systems while ensuring appropriate governance, observability, and operational safeguards. Establish Operational Excellence Build engineering systems that enable reliable software delivery through strong operational practices.Ensure teams consistently deliver software that is: secure observable resilient scalable maintainableDrive continuous improvements through metrics, postmortems, incident reviews, SLOs, automation, and engineering health initiatives.Champion operational discipline as an everyday engineering practice rather than a reactive activity. Develop Engineering Systems Create mechanisms that improve team effectiveness and predictability. This includes: planning and estimation sprint and release processes engineering metrics on-call readiness documentation technical debt management development workflows continuous improvementContinuously identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce friction, and improve engineering productivity. Provide Technical Leadership Guide technical decision-making without becoming the bottleneck for engineering execution.Review architecture and design proposals, encourage sound engineering tradeoffs, and ensure solutions remain maintainable, scalable, and aligned with organizational standards.Partner with senior and staff engineers to evolve technical direction while empowering engineers to make strong technical decisions independently."
It seems like there are headings (Build High-Performing Engineering Teams, Drive Delivery Excellence, etc.) each followed by sentences. Could treat each heading as a subsection? But we only have
for section headings; we could embed ? Not allowed? Only for section headings. We could keep prose with
and maybe use for headings inside? Not required. Simpler: treat the whole "What You'll Do" as a containing the sentences. But we need to use
- for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. Since there is no explicit list, we can keep as
. Similarly for "What You'll Bring" there are bullet-like sentences but not explicit list; we can keep as
. For "Ideally, You'll Also Have Experience With..." it's a list of items separated by commas; could treat as
- . Might be better to split into list items.
Benefits: "Based on eligibility, First American offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO/paid sick leave and other great benefits like an employee stock purchase plan." That's a sentence; we can keep as
. Could also list items but not required.
Pay: we can have
Pay
Pay Range: $148,600.00 - $198,200.00 Annually This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
We need to remove duplicated lines: there is none.
