About Us

Shaw Industries is an industry-leading flooring company providing the best quality flooring solutions to customers across residential, commercial, and outdoor markets worldwide. Headquartered in Dalton, Georgia, Shaw Industries is a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. with more than $5 billion in annual sales and approximately 17,000 associates. We are dedicated to values of inclusivity, sustainability, and making the world a better place for our people and our customers.

About the Role

Shaw’s Internship and Co-op Program is designed to attract talented students eager to gain real-world experience, develop in-demand skills, and make meaningful contributions. Through hands-on projects, mentorship, and professional development opportunities, participants make an impact from day one while building a strong foundation for future career success.

Students have the opportunity to complete a series of semesters, either rotating between school/work or sequentially, working onsite in Shaw’s manufacturing operations facilities in an engineering capacity. We will help you match with a facility that best utilizes your skills and interests to develop yourself and the onsite team.

Trainees work with our engineering staff to apply both knowledge and problem-solving skills to ongoing facility projects, often tackling real-world issues to gain valuable technical experience. Project work typically begins more basic during the student’s first semester and progressively becomes more advanced and impactful as experience is gained.

Upon completing multiple semesters as an intern or co-op, you will have grown your knowledge of working in a full-time position as an engineer in manufacturing and will be developmentally ready to interview for full-time positions with us upon graduation.
