This Co-Op/Internship opportunity is ideal for students who want to obtain real-world work experience while in school. Opportunities are available year-round with terms that may include Fall, Winter, and/or Summer, aligning with your school’s required Co-Op/Internship curriculum. The program balances classroom theory with hands-on experience to fulfill graduation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Write and update work instructions.
  • Create and update CAD drawings.
  • Set up and run various test equipment.
  • Contribute to the engineering design process (concept, design, drawing creation, build, document), installation, PPAP, and long-term technical support of manufacturing processes, focusing on quality, capability, cost, and time.
  • Assist in designing and developing tools, fixtures, and processes to support existing products and new product development initiatives, including:
    • CNC Machining
    • Forging
    • Steel Fabrication of brake shoes
    • Leaf Spring manufacturing
    • Automated cell layouts / material flow
    • Equipment rebuilds
  • Work independently and collaboratively with engineers.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Work hands-on with support groups (maintenance & toolroom) to validate designs and concepts.
  • Travel to Hendrickson manufacturing facilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Enrolled student or recent graduate in a Mechanical Engineering program.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent sitting and working at a computer for extended periods.
  • Work in an office setting and shop floor environment.
  • Work in and around industrial machinery, with potential exposure to:
    • Forging
    • Machining
    • Metal surface treatment
    • Welding
    • Stamping
  • All necessary PPE (as defined by OSHA) and associated training will be provided.

Pay

$22.00 hourly
