About the role

CMTA, a Legence Company, offers a unique opportunity for hands-on training in mechanical/HVAC/Energy design. This full-time (40 hrs./week) position starts in August 2026 and goes through Fall 2026, with dates flexible according to the school calendar. The goal is to provide multiple co-op rotations, potentially leading to full-time employment after graduation.

Job Functions

  • Produce detailed layout and equipment details of HVAC systems
  • Produce one-line diagrams/schematics
  • Aid the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings
  • May assist in data collection and/or field verification
  • Work in conjunction with designers and engineers to develop all aspects of a project

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore (2nd year) or junior (3rd year)
  • Strong interest in Building Systems Mechanical Engineering
  • Preferred AutoCAD and REVIT experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work full time in our office throughout the co-op term
  • Ability to travel locally for job site inspections, field work, etc.
