About the role

The Documentation Specialist assists project engineers with handling and executing customer documentation and specifications required per customer job.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with project engineers on job-specific documentation requirements.
  • Provide information and forms to the Project Engineer (PE) as they pertain to specific job requirements.
  • Coordinate timing with PE and Project Manager (PM) on documentation completion dates.
  • Assist project engineers or their designee with filling out forms, including job documentation as required based on workload.
  • Coordinate subcontracting of documentation completion to other firms.
  • Coordinate with the sales department on customer documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers on customer documentation requirements as they pertain to job specification requirements.
  • Maintain GENESYS customer specifications for the company.
  • Coordinate with GENESYS customers to ensure the company has their latest updated specifications.
  • Train engineering personnel on filling out customer documentation.
  • Train various departments about customer documentation.
  • Coordinate activities with Parts and Components personnel.
  • Assist with mechanical design and detailing when not involved with Documentation Specialist activities.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Design, or 3-5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 years of experience with Autodesk products, Inventor, AutoCAD, and Vault.
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office programs.
