About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join their Planning, Development and Natural Resources (PDNR) team as an Engineering Designer, Land Development at their Tampa office.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical and design services in support of civil engineering projects as part of a project team
  • Prepares design computations and assessments
  • Produces design/construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents
  • Reports directly to their Project Manager
  • Completes design tasks within budget and on schedule
  • Communicates and coordinates with Project Manager and design team on design issues and calculations relating to a project
  • Stays current with Local, State & Federal Design Standards and Regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil
  • Proficient in CAD Civil 3D and capable of learning other design software programs as required
  • Process-oriented individual with strong organization and technical skills
  • Solid communicator, able to take and understand directives from PM and coordinate efforts with design team
  • Strong writing and verbal skills; Able to complete work consistently, with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying demands put on them by PMs
  • May or may not require a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record

What You’ll Need

  • Past FE Exam and E.I./E.I.T. certification
  • Experience with design of land development projects preferred
  • NC residency preferred
