Duties, Responsibilities & Other
- Support land development projects by preparing engineering designs and construction documents for residential, commercial, mixed-use, and municipal developments.
- Develop engineering designs and prepare construction drawings for land development projects, including site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, roadway access, and erosion and sediment control.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to create and manage surfaces, alignments, profiles, pipe networks, grading objects, and earthwork quantities.
- Perform engineering calculations related to hydrology/hydraulics, stormwater systems, utility design, and earthwork.
- Assist with entitlement and permitting efforts, including preparation of plans and supporting documentation for local and state agencies.
- Cookordinate with survey, planning, transportation, environmental, and utility teams to support integrated site design.
- Prepare and revise Civil 3D drawings, details, and plan sets, ensuring consistency with company CAD standards.
- Conduct site visits to gather field data such as measurements, photographs, sketches, and observations.
- Prepare design calculations, technical documentation, cost estimates, and construction documents for review.
- Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for conformance with design intent.
- Support proposal preparation, including scope, schedule, fee development, and project tracking.
- Participate in project meetings to review design progress, schedules, and deliverables.
- Ensure projects meet quality control, ISO requirements, schedules, and budget expectations.
- Meet or exceed individual utilization goals while delivering accurate, high-quality work.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program.
- Proficiency in required design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Revit.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Good communication and technical writing skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
