About the role

Professional, highly technical and highly responsible administrative work in designing, drafting, and producing construction documents (plans and specifications) and as-built record drawings for utility, roadway, marine and other horizontal projects.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of duties related to the design, construction inspection, and project management of Town horizontal and marine assets projects.
  • Performs research and analysis of information, documentation of existing conditions, assists in survey and survey data importing, produces AutoCAD documentation, assists staff with drafting functions; all other related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Formal education/degree in AutoCAD design, Engineering, GIS, or a related field preferred, with a Bachelor’s Degree the most desirable;
  • Over seven years of work experience designing horizontal projects using AutoCAD;
  • Through knowledge of construction and construction practices;
  • Class D driver’s license required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and of the materials, methods and techniques of public works construction.
  • Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations governing construction, wastewater and water treatment and conveyance, and water quality.
  • Technical knowledge and experience in design, construction and inspection problems commonly encountered in municipal engineering activities.
  • Proven ability to design large-scale complex projects.
  • Ability to interpret and follow engineering and architectural plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspect construction projects and collect measurements from the field.
  • Ability to deal appropriately and effectively with contractors and a large variety of people.
  • Ability to work in a close-knit, team environment.
  • Highly skilled in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets, database, PowerPoint, CAD, and engineering design software.
  • Team oriented attitude.

Pay

$3,102.01 bi-weekly, plus benefits
