Position Summary
CAMACO is seeking an Engineering Controls Technician to support automated manufacturing equipment in a high-volume automotive production environment. This role focuses on troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems, robotic cells, and electrical controls to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley preferred)
- Support robotic welding cells (Fanuc preferred)
- Diagnose electrical, sensor, and control system issues
- Aid with HMI updates and control modifications
- Support preventive maintenance and downtime reduction efforts
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic
- Aid with new equipment installation and startup
- Maintain accurate documentation of changes and repairs
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years experience in automated manufacturing or industrial maintenance
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- Broad PLC troubleshooting experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Work Environment
Automated automotive manufacturing facility covering 300,000 sq ft. Facility includes 160+ robotic welding cells, stamping presses, and tube mills. Environment is hands-on, team-oriented, and production-focused.
