About the role
Plan, manage, and coordinate activities in Engineering, Maintenance, and Innovations for the business unit, aligning with customer requirements, current standards, and tools for Safety, Quality, and Engineering at Schnellecke Logistics Alabama.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to safety principles at all times and follow standard work procedures and safety rules for all assigned tasks.
- Execute the values, philosophy, mission, strategy, policies, and standards of Schnellecke Logistics to achieve its vision.
- Apply best practices in the area of responsibility to ensure robust and efficient processes.
- Improve business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop layouts, material, and information flows to meet customer requirements and optimize resource use (internal and external).
- Develop and implement warehouse strategies based on packaging characteristics, consumption, and delivery methods.
- Elaborate and update manpower files with RTR quantities, making changes as process changes occur.
- Provide monthly movement quantities as a basis for invoicing.
- Coordinate and direct projects, creating detailed plans to accomplish goals and integrate technical activities.
- Direct the application of Project Management methodology in the business unit.
- Support Lean and Kaizen initiatives across all areas.
- Initiate and manage internal LEAN systems and enforce LEAN principles and culture throughout the organization.
- Support the development of training and Lean tools for individuals involved in change processes.
- Perform efficiency data analysis to ensure processes meet standards.
- Monitor progress toward completion of training goals.
- Manage the Idea Management program, using associate ideas to drive operational improvements.
- Conduct deficiency analysis and implement process improvements based on customer requirements.
- Perform time studies and upload information into the SharePoint system.
- Develop and measure KPIs.
- Coach and actively support leadership in all areas of Lean processes.
- Audit Lean processes and report findings.
- Train all personnel on LEAN culture, Kaizen, Idea Management, and other relevant areas.
- Work with operations managers and engineering to ensure efficiency reports reflect process workloads.
- Continuously improve best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of lean management experience.
- 5 years of experience in engineering and planning of logistics processes.
- 2 years of team leadership experience.
- 2 years of budget and administration experience.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to work in a plant and office environment.
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical and mechanical equipment, vibration, and wet or humid weather conditions.
- Occasional exposure to loud noise levels.
- Frequent standing, walking, and sitting for long periods; bending and/or reaching may be required.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times while on the shop floor to prevent injury.
