Engineering and Asset Management Division Manager
About the Role
The City of Henderson is conducting an examination to create an eligibility list and fill one vacancy for the Engineering and Asset Management Division Manager position in the Department of Utility Services. This role involves planning, organizing, managing, and directing subordinate managers and staff responsible for utility planning, design, construction, and asset management within Utility Services. The ideal candidate will serve as the lead engineering professional for the department.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a proven water/wastewater engineer and leader with extensive experience mitigating operational, legal, regulatory, financial, and environmental risks. They should have a strong background in integrated asset management programs and prioritizing capital projects to support asset replacement/renewal, capacity improvements, reliability enhancements, growth, and redundancy projects while maintaining technical excellence and industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes, manages, and directs subordinate managers and staff responsible for utility planning, design, construction, and asset management.
- Serves as the lead engineering professional for the Department of Utility Services.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Ten years of post-license professional utilities engineering experience in planning, design, construction, asset management, or closely related functions in a large water/wastewater utility, with at least five years at the manager/supervisory level.
- Valid registration as a Professional Engineer with the State of Nevada or the ability to obtain this registration through reciprocity within one year of hire.
- Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483.
Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field (desirable).
Pay
Salary Range: $127,924.12 - $191,886.18 Annually
