Engineering Aide
About the role
This position requires the candidate to be a W2 employee of Donatech. US Citizenship and an active Secret Clearance are required.
The role involves fabrication tasks including placing and soldering components on circuit cards and sub-assemblies, as well as fabricating wiring harnesses with connector pinning, de-pinning, and applying mounting hardware. Lower-level assemblies will be built up into single or multi-bay cabinet assemblies for delivery to Engineering or Manufacturing Production areas.
Candidates will work as individual contributors in a team environment, collaborating with Engineers, Fabricators, Draftsmen, Procurement, and Quality Inspectors.
Schedule
This is a full-time position requiring a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime.
Responsibilities
- Place and solder components on circuit cards and sub-assemblies.
- Fabricate wiring harnesses, including connector pinning, de-pinning, and applying mounting hardware.
- Build lower-level assemblies into single or multi-bay cabinet assemblies.
- Collaborate with Engineers and other Fabrication team members, including Draftsmen, Procurement, and Quality Inspectors.
- Communicate issues (both verbal and written) related to design or process requirements to management and engineers.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in fabrication environments such as cable and wire harness, SMT board fabrication, or maintenance of military design products.
- Prior certification in solder and harness capability to MIL STD requirements.
- Experience fabricating electrical equipment from blueprints, schematics, and engineering guides.
- Proficiency in utilizing software tools and Microsoft products.
- Self-starter able to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
Desired Skills
- Solder certification to J-STD-001, IPC-7711/IPC-7721.
- Experience in procurement and acquisition of test materials.
- Experience interpreting and building to client Test Equipment engineering.
