Engineer V-VI, Licensing
About the role
This role supports the development of reactor licensing efforts and engages with the U.S. NRC. Key responsibilities include supporting portions of licensing activities, ensuring compliance with NRC regulations, and developing licensing content.
Responsibilities
- Support portions of licensing activities (certifications, permits, approvals, and licenses associated with reactor technologies)
- Maintain milestones agreed with the U.S. NRC
- Provide licensing support to engineers in developing technical requirements
- Develop licensing content to support portions of Safety Analysis Reports and licensing applications
- Support planning and execution of the X-energy licensing strategy
- Develop regulatory white papers, technical reports, and licensing topical reports
- Develop licensing plans and associated budgets
- Support the X-energy safety culture and ensure integration of quality in licensing processes
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
Requirements
- Level V: Fifteen years of relevant licensing experience
- Level VI: Twenty years of relevant licensing experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (e.g. mechanical, nuclear, electrical, physics) or other related area
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with licensing activities related to cybersecurity for power reactors and/or small modular reactors
- Knowledge of and application of 10 CFR Part 73 requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (e.g. mechanical, nuclear, electrical, physics) or other related area
- Fifteen years of relevant licensing experience (Level V)
- Twenty years of relevant licensing experience (Level VI)
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with licensing activities related to cybersecurity for power reactors and/or small modular reactors
- Knowledge of and application of 10 CFR Part 73 requirements

A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is: Level V: $139,950 - $233,250 / Level VI: $153,750 - $256,250
