About the Role

Develops packaging equipment and materials to ensure safe, convenient, and visually appealing transport of goods under various conditions. Analyzes engineering drawings and product specifications to determine optimal packaging solutions that maximize utility, function, and compliance with safety requirements. Evaluates packaging methods, identifies opportunities to enhance efficiency, and recommends innovations in materials, sealing techniques, and fastening devices.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses and leads the specification development process, ensuring complex technical specifications meet the highest standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Provides direction and oversight for the creation, revision, and approval of product specifications, acting as the point of contact for cross-functional teams.
  • Coaches and mentors junior engineers and technical staff, sharing expertise on best practices for specification development and providing guidance on complex technical challenges.
  • Ensures team members have the tools and resources necessary for successful specification creation and management.
  • Conducts complex analysis of product specifications, examining compliance with customer requirements, safety standards, and industry regulations.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and proactively suggests solutions to enhance product quality and functionality.
  • Designs systems to improve specification processes, contributing to the development and implementation of standardized approaches that increase efficiency and consistency across the product specification lifecycle.
  • Collaborates with product development and engineering teams to integrate new specifications and improve existing ones.
  • Develops complex technical documentation, including detailed product specifications, design standards, and technical manuals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational and industry requirements.
  • Implements processes to improve specification management, optimizing workflows to enhance team productivity and reduce errors.
  • Continuously evaluates and refines processes to ensure product specifications are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
  • Establishes and implements strategies to engage key stakeholders, ensuring product specifications align with customer needs, market trends, and competitive products.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on specification-related matters.
  • Implements cross-functional coordination strategies, ensuring alignment among relevant departments (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance) on the latest specification updates.
  • Leads discussions and meetings with stakeholders to drive consensus on product requirements and design changes.
  • Provides leadership for operational tasks and coaching for junior team members, helping manage day-to-day specification development tasks.
  • Offers constructive feedback and support to colleagues, promoting continuous learning and development within the team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum required).
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience (minimum required).
  • Master’s degree (preferred).
  • 8-11 years of relevant experience (preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
