About the role

Dominion Energy is seeking candidates for an Engineer position within the Gas Operations Engineering & Construction group. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining schedules and budgets for large distribution and transmission natural gas projects within the Southern Division. These are used by the Manager of Engineering and Construction to report budget variances and make decisions regarding execution of the Division’s infrastructure plan. The engineer will also provide project management for natural gas projects, including examining, planning, and managing natural gas pipeline projects within the Southern Division (Charleston, Summerville, Beaufort, Bluffton, and outlying areas). This is a highly visible and challenging position in one of the fastest-growing markets in the country. The position is located in Charleston, SC.

We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate flexibility. Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus an appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below, will be considered for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain schedules and budgets for large distribution and transmission natural gas projects.
  • Provide project management for natural gas pipeline projects, including planning and execution.
  • Serve as a resource for budget variance reporting and decision-making regarding infrastructure plans.
  • Examine, plan, and manage natural gas pipeline projects within the Southern Division.

Requirements

Engineer

  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Registered E.I.T.
  • Knowledge and application of engineering theories, principles, concepts, and fundamentals.
  • Developmental experience in a professional engineering position.
  • Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality, and/or ingenuity.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing).

Senior Engineer

  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Registered E.I.T.
  • Able to perform highly difficult and complex work requiring extensive knowledge of the subject matter and significant experience within the functional assignment area.
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to serve as team project lead.
  • Proven decision-making skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.

Staff Engineer

  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Registered P.E.
  • Plans and conducts complex work requiring independent judgment to develop solutions.
  • Serves as technical expert on engineering-related legal and regulatory issues.
  • A resource to management on more complex engineering problems and issues.
  • Performs research to find innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions to operational problems within assigned area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an ABET-accredited Engineering Program from a recognized college or university (required; equivalency not accepted).
  • For Nuclear Employees: ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014, Section 4.6.1 requirements must be met or exceeded, except for the nuclear power experience requirement of at least 1 year.
  • Baccalaureate or associate degree in engineering or related science.
  • Minimum experience: 2 years of related experience, including 1 year of nuclear power plant experience (if applicable).

Pay

Expected hiring base salary ranges:

  • Engineer: $81,900 – $106,400
  • Senior Engineer: $90,900 – $118,100
  • Staff Engineer: $102,300 – $132,800

The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and work location.
