Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings to be used in the manufacturing of new tooling in support of various programs.
  • Create effective and safe designs that are used to manufacture, test, qualify, and transport product.
  • Schedule and run 30/60/90% Design Reviews to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the design cycle.
  • Work with internal customers to conceptualize and design support equipment for new and existing programs.
  • Work closely with other Tool Engineering functions to provide designs on time and within budget.
  • Understand and monitor budget and schedule for own tasks.
  • Review Engineering drawings and designs for manufacturability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance prior to starting.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to starting.
  • Solid modeling experience (NX preferred).
  • Experience with manufacturing processes.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with 2D drawing preparation.
  • Experience with GD&T practice and implementation.

Qualifications

Tooling Engineer Level 2

  • Bachelor’s in STEM with 1 year of experience in Mechanical, Design, Tooling, Manufacturing, Die, Product, or similar engineering fields; OR
  • Master’s in STEM with 0 years of experience in the above fields.

Principal Tooling Engineer Level 3

  • Bachelor’s in STEM with 4 years of experience in Mechanical, Design, Tooling, Manufacturing, Die, Product, or similar engineering fields; OR
  • Master’s in STEM with 3 years of experience in the above fields; OR
  • PhD in STEM with 0 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active U.S. Government clearance.
  • Active Special Program Access (PAR).
  • Demonstrated experience with NX modeling.
  • Structural analysis experience (FEA and hand calculations).
  • Mechanical design and assembly experience.
  • Experience managing small to medium-sized design projects.

Pay

Primary Level (Level 2) Salary Range: $72,100 – $108,100 per year.

Secondary Level (Level 3) Salary Range: $89,400 – $134,200 per year.

Base salary offers consider scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differentials, discretionary bonuses, annual performance-based bonuses, long-term incentives (for Vice President or Director roles), health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off.
